Yesterday, November 26, 2024, at Women in Legal World (WLW) we celebrated the appointment of its Equality Ambassadors at the Cecilio Rodríguez Gardens Pavilion, in Madrid. An event that, for the third consecutive year, brought together outstanding personalities from the legal, political, business and academic fields, united by our firm commitment to moving towards a more just, equitable and diverse society.
The General Secretary of WLW, Ana Martínez Enguídanos, began the event, highlighting the fundamental pillars on which WLW continues to build its mission: visibility of female talent, education, participation in public debate and leadership.
Then, the WLW Equality Ambassadors were appointed, personalities who were chosen for their contribution to strengthening the values of equality, inclusion and leadership in their respective fields:
- Félix Bolaños, Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts;
- Cándido Conde-Pumpido, President of the Constitutional Court;
- Pedro Rollán, the President of the Senate;
- Xavier Martí Martí, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
- Salvador González Martín, President of the General Council of the Legal Profession;
- Joan Roca Sagarra, Managing Partner of Roca Junyent;
- Antonio Vázquez Guillén, Managing Partner of Allen & Overy;
- Luis Alonso Díez, Managing Partner of the Corporate/M&A area in Spain and Global Responsible Partner of Entertainment and Sports at Clifford Chance;
- Enrique Gutiérrez de la Rocha, Partner Responsible for Tax & Legal at Deloitte;
- Antonio de Gregorio, Partner at Mckinsey;
- Hugo Rovira, General Director of NH Hotel Group;
- Javier Muñoz Martínez, General Secretary and Board of Directors of Prisa Media;
- Juan José Sánchez Puig, CEO of ISDE;
- Fernando Carrillo, Trustee of the Carolina Foundation;
- Tomás Poveda, Former president of Casa de América and businessman;
- Aldo Scaringella, Manager Director of Iberian Legal Group;
- Alfredo López Rodríguez, SDR Manager Europe VLEX;
- Antonio Serrano, MIT professor;
- Jorge Gutiérrez, Head of Groups at Banco de Santander.
WLW President Marlen Estévez closed the ceremony with inspiring words, thanking the new ambassadors for their commitment and encouraging them to continue fighting for equality. “Your presence here demonstrates that real change is possible when we work together. Equality is not just a cause for women, but a goal shared by all.”
This event reaffirms WLW’s commitment to advancing gender equality and empowering women in the legal sector and beyond.
