On November 14, our New York chapter hosted an Executive Breakfast at Stairs Dillenbeck Finley Mayer PLLC, thanks to the generosity of Lourdes Pomares Mas, Partner at the firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As her partner shared at the beginning of the breakfast\u2014while we sat on the historic wooden chairs from Harvard Law School\u2014many years ago, only 20 women formed part of a class of 500. It is inspiring to see how far we have come, yet it is a powerful reminder of how much meaningful work remains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were inspired by Julissa Reynoso, former U.S. Ambassador to Spain and Andorra, who reminded us that opportunities take effort. We also heard from Viktoria Khaitina (World Bank, Women, Business and the Law), who shared the 2024 Executive Summary. One fact stayed with us: half of the world\u2019s women\u20143.9 billion\u2014still face legal barriers to economic opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The night before, our attendees were invited by the Escuela Superior de M\u00fasica Reina Sof\u00eda to its New York City debut concert under the Presidency of Queen Sof\u00eda of Spain at Carnegie Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a privilege to share such a beautiful evening, with a touch of Spanish culture in New York, alongside the Reina Sof\u00eda School of Music, Maestro Andr\u00e9s Orozco-Estrada, and soloist Renaud Capu\u00e7on. An immense effort that was warmly received by the New York audience, with strong representation from the Spanish community.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are deeply grateful to the Reina Sof\u00eda School of Music for their generosity and we congratulate them on their success. We are excited to continue growing our New York chapter, connecting and empowering women in law, and building bridges with inspiring institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
