WOMEN JURISTS ON THE IBEX BOARD OF DIRECTORS 35
Networking Esade Corporate Governance Center to Women in a Legal World, they have elaborated, in collaboration with Alexander Hughes, the study "Women jurists on the Ibex Boards of Directors 35”, to analyze the situation of legal advisers in listed companies, as well as its impact and contribution in the decision-making process of companies.
The findings of the study are presented in this webinar led by Marlen Estévez, presidenta de Women in a Legal World, to Mario Lara, director of the Center for Corporate Governance and Esade Madrid, and that it has had the participation of Beatriz Corredor, President of the Red Eléctrica Group; Eugenia Bieto, director of the Esade Women Initiative and independent director of Endesa; e Ignacio Pascual, managing partner de Alexander Hughes. Silvia López, secretary of the board of Neinor Homes and partner of Roca Junyent, has moderated the debate.
Of the total of the thirty-four companies analyzed, thirty of them (that will be held 88%) have a lawyer on their board of directors, while only twenty-one of these companies have female lawyers on their board.
One of the most relevant conclusions drawn from this study is the importance of legal advisers, expressed in number of legal advisers within the boards of directors. Of the total of the thirty-four companies analyzed and the 443 counselors, reach a 22% of Ibex directors 35 have been identified as jurists, translated into a total of 98 legal advisers.
